  • Tell us a little bit about your business
  • A family owned and operated hotel overlooking the sea in central
Bournemouth with 9 private meeting and event spaces catering from 2
    to 280 guests.
  • What are some of the most popular services that you provide?
  • We are a popular venue for business guests who make use of our range
of flexible meeting and event spaces but also those who work from
home and want a change of scene. Our bar area has an area called The
Snug which has been designed with our business guests in mind. Table
top charging points and plenty of power points ensure that guests can
remain connected and there is no need to book in this area either. We
also provide free parking on site which our business guests love.
  • Has there been a particular business highlight this year?
  • We won the Institute of Hospitality award for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
& Belonging which was no mean feat as we were up against some pretty
big players. Feedback was – “The judges were highly impressed with the
family-owned business of Marsham Court in Bournemouth which has
made a huge impact in the local community on disability and LGBTQ+
issues. Including working with Employ My Ability, they are also the only
hotel in the UK to provide ‘A Changing Places Shower and Toilet Facility’
and five accessible bedrooms with profiling beds and removable ceiling
hoists. Their support in hosting a range of local LGBTQ+ events and
employing a large number of LGBTQ+ employees in the business was
    also outstanding.
  • What do you enjoy most about networking?
  • I am genuinely proud of everything we have achieved at the hotel and I
love meeting new people and spreading the word further.
  •  What do you love about working in the geographical area that you work?
  • I’ve never lived anywhere else and can’t say I would want to. Dorset is
    the most amazing County.
  • When you’re not busy working, what do you like to do in your spare
    time?
  • I’m a keen cook and also enjoy a walk by the coast
  • What are your favourite places to visit locally?
  • Christchurch and Lymington and 2 of my favourite places.
  • Tell us any other interesting facts about you that you think people would like to know…
  • I love a bit of crafting but don’t have a great deal of time to do it.
